Custom Walnut and Patinaed Steel Office Desk
Mid-century appeal
The stunning finish of this mid 20th century style office desk is the first thing to catch the eye. This was achieved by applying a three-part varnish, oil and turpentine mixture that took one month to set before it was hand-buffed.
Box joint joinery was used to bring the walnut body together, creating remarkable depth and contrast to the alternating tones of the wood grain. The drawer fronts, back and legs are made from patinaed steel to bring out a brown and gold finish that gives the cold steel a warm look.
The simplicity of the desk itself only adds to the beauty and depth of the wood grain and patina details.
